There’s also the 1883 season 2 release date in the pipeline, and Yellowstone 1923 is thriving with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren leading their own drama series based on Taylor Sheridan’s world. Yellowstone 6666 release date speculation
We think Yellowstone 6666 will be released on Paramount Plus in late 2023, but don’t be surprised if it’s pushed back to early 2024.
It’s been a difficult time for Yellowstone fans, with the news of the flagship series being cancelled hitting hard. Taylor Sheridan and the team will probably be scrambling to wrap things up over there, so don’t be surprised if there ends up being a slight delay on 6666.
Yellowstone 6666 cast speculation
While no one has officially been added to the Yellowstone 6666 cast, we assume it’s very likely Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) will take on the lead role. In Yellowstone season 4, the character was sent to the 6666 ranch and never came back.
If Jimmy is there, then it’s also likely his girlfriend Emily (Kathryn Kelly) will be hanging around, too. The pair are set to return to the main Yellowstone series, so perhaps that will be the perfect opportunity to set up this new venture.
It’s also been confirmed that we will be getting a Matthew McConaughey-led Yellowstone spin-off, though whether this involves him stepping onto the 6666 ranch specifically remains to be seen.
What is Yellowstone 6666 about?
Thanks to a press release from Paramount, we know that the Yellowstone 6666 plot will tell the story of the fabled four-sixes ranch, a place “where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.”
Despite sounding like some kind of demonic horror movie, this series is actually all about a pretty normal building, more specifically, a ranch. Paramount adds: “Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666.”
Okay, now it sounds more like a good old Western movie of days gone by. It’s the kind of story that would make a classic Clint Eastwood movie tick, isn’t it?
We also know why the ranch is called 6666 (said four-sixes); legend has it Samuel Burnett won the ranch in a card game with four sixes. But, the Burnett family insist the name derives from the first herd of cattle on the ranch being branded with four sixes. Even more fascinating, though, is the fact Taylor Sheridan, the writer of the show, actually owns the real ranch upon which the series is based.

Since we’re still a while off, there’s no Yellowstone 6666 trailer just yet, but we’d expect one in late 2023 or early 2024.

Yellowstone 6666 will be available to watch on the Paramount Network, originally having been slated to run on Paramount Plus.
So far, all the Yellowstone spin-offs have lived on the streaming service, but this marks the move from streaming to linear television.
That said, we don’t doubt that the series will become available on Paramount Plus at some stage. In the meantime, you can sign up to the platform and start brushing up on your Yellowstone history.
How many episodes of Yellowstone 6666 will there be?
As it stands, there’s no official confirmation on the number of Yellowstone 6666 episodes, but we think it’ll be somewhere between eight and ten.
We know that both Yellowstone and 1923 have both had ten episodes per season, and 1923 had eight, so we can probably expect it to fall within this range.
