First look at American Gods

The first trailer has been released for the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods for Starz. The novel and show is based on the idea that gods and mythological creatures exist because people believe in them and new gods have arisen, reflecting America's obsessions with media, celebrity, technology, and drugs. The show is being executive produced by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal and the upcoming Star Trek TV series).

The trailer focuses on ex-convict Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), as he meets the mysterious Mr Wednesday (Ian McShane) and who knows more about Shadow's life and past and introduces him to the world of the gods.

American Gods features an impressive cast including Peter Stormare as the hammer-wielding Czernobog, Crispin Glover as Mr. World and Gillian Anderson as Media. The show will debut next year. We'll bring more news, including the UK broadcaster and air date as we have it...
