Will & Grace revival picked up for a third season before the second even airs

Whether you like it or not, TV revivals are a big thing and one such show that is getting stronger and stronger is Will & Grace. Even before it airs its second season, the series has been picked up for a third.

The first season of the returning show is still airing new episodes but NBC has been so impressed that it has bumped up its second season order to 18 episodes and ordered the same for a third.

Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes are all committed to playing their beloved characters for some time. McCormack, who plays the titular Will, is also starring in sci-fi series Travelers, which just got a third season renewal.

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt made the following statement....

"As far as I'm concerned, we can't get enough of Will & Grace and 23 more episodes is music to my ears. We're eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean, and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going.

"I'm overwhelmed by the euphoric response the new show has received from the press and the audience, and my hat is off to the unrivalled writing team of Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as the brilliant directing of Jimmy Burrows, for consistently delivering one of the best shows on television."

The first season of the Will & Grace revival (AKA season 9) is currently airing on Channel 5 here in the UK.
