Tyler Hoechlin AND Brandon Routh will appear as Superman in the next Arrowverse crossover 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'
When the next big Arrowverse crossover kicks off at the end of the year, we'll be getting not one but two Supermans (it is it Superman?) Tyler Hoechlin reprise his role as the Man of Steel, and so will Brandon Routh, who played Superman in 2006 movie Superman Returns.
Confused? So are we. Routh already plays DC character Ray Palmer (AKA Atom) on Legends of Tomorrow. Given the multiverse stakes of the upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths storyline, it seems the Arrowverse will have some fun with Routh playing an alternate Superman.
The crossover will span five episodes of Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and new DC / The CW series Batwoman (three episodes at the end of 2019 and the concluding two parts early 2020). It will also culminate around the same time as Arrow's final episodes.
In other Arrowverse news, Supergirl is getting an upgraded costume (see below) for season five.
Expect more news from the Arrowverse at the San Diego Comic Con this weekend.
