Toby Jones joins Sherlock series four in villainous role

Toby Jones is no stranger to playing villains - from Doctor Who, to Captain America to Wayward Pines - and now he is set to join the fourth series of Sherlock, playing an unnamed villain in the second of the three new episodes.

Production has begun on the second episode, directed by Nick Hurran who last helmed series three's His Last Vow. On the new casting announcement, series co-creator Steven Moffat teased Jones 'bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains'.

We'll bring more news on Sherlock series four as we have it. The show will return to BBC 1 early 2017.
