The Lost Boys being remade for television

Rebooting classic TV shows and films for modern television is not a new thing, and the latest to get this treatment is The Lost Boys. Joel Schumacher's 1987 vampire cult classic featured Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. This new version is being developed by Veronica Mars and iZombie showrunner Rob Thomas for The CW.

Deadline have reported that the TV version of The Lost Boys is planned for seven-seasons. It will be an anthology show, telling a story spanning 70 years, each season chronicling a decade, with just the vampire characters remaining throughout. The first season will be set in San Francisco in 1967.

There is no news on whether a pilot or further episodes have been ordered, but with The Vampire Diaries ending after the current season, The Lost Boys could be the perfect new series for their current audience. More news as we have it.
