The CW renews iZombie for season four, picks up Black Lightning for full series

Fans of iZombie can rest easy; The CW has renewed the zombie comedy-drama from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas, for a fourth season. Season three is currently airing in the US and is available weekly here in the UK on Netflix.

For those not familiar with the show, it feature's Rose McIver's Liv Moore as a morgue attendant that solves crime with her detective partner by eating the brains of murder victims to find clues. It's a delightful, funny show and well worth a look.

Vampire drama The Originals has also been picked up for another year.

Meanwhile, the network has also picked up another superhero show Black Lightning after committing to a pilot earlier this year. The show, that will feature Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, will be the fifth show in the ever expanding DC superhero universe that begun with Arrow back in 2012.

It's not clear yet how it will be scheduled around the other shows, but the possibility of a five-episode crossover are certainly likely...
