Stephen Amell wants an Arrow / Constantine crossover

While The CW's Arrow looks set to continue to at least the end of season four, NBC's Constantine has already found itself cancelled at the end of its debut season. (UK viewers can catch the show on Amazon Prime). However, at the recent Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, teased the possibilities of a cross-over with Constantine and other DC-based shows on different networks.

"There is an opportunity for interconnectivity with any DC television show that exists.” Amell said after ruling himself and The Flash star Grant Gustin out of the big screen DC movies. “Like, as an example, yesterday Constantine was cancelled. And there is…yeah, I know, it’s brutal…it’s a good show, and it should come back. And it may come back, like there are various platforms where it could come back.

Amell went on to reveal that he had been talks to star as the Arrow in Constantine. "The reason that I was going to guest star on Constantine, at least the idea that we were throwing around was he’s an expert when it comes to the Lazarus Pit, which is now something that is a part of and will continue to be a part of Arrow.

The Lazarus Pit has been a key part of the back half of Arrow season three, so the connection would make sense. Perhaps if Constantine really is dead, there may be a chance for the titular character to appear in Amell's own show next season?

But it didn't end there, as Amell told the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con that the Arrow/The Flash universe could interact with other DC-comics based shows.

"Now, Constantine was an NBC show. I’m on The CW. I had had discussions with DC… so not NBC, not CW… but with DC Entertainment about guest starring on Constantine when it was still on the air. And that was and is still on the table. So we have Flash, we have Legends of Tomorrow, a new show which is directly connected to the Arrow universe, we have Supergirl… she got picked up, directed by my good friend Glen Winter, that pilot, I can’t wait to see it, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing… there’s Gotham obviously, and I’m missing something… Titans, there you go. So again I wouldn't worry too much about the movie universe, because we have no shortage of options for me and other characters to populate.

There has been talk of a cross-over with Supergirl before, considering the producers also developed the hit shows Arrow and The Flash. Amell's comments suggest the TV world could be bigger than ever. Just assuming the networks agree to that. There is likely to be a lot of red tape before anything takes place...
