Star Wars TV Series to be set seven years after Return of the Jedi

We haven't heard a lot about the live action Star Wars TV series, except that it will likely air around 2019 on Disney's new streaming platform and Jon Faverau will write and executive produce.

In an interview with the Nerdist, Faverau confirmed that the series will be set in the period between the original and sequel movie trilogies - 7 years after Return Of The Jedi in fact. Another animated TV series, Star Wars: Resistance was also recently announced , though this will be set much closer to The Force Awakens another 23 years later and feature guest appearances from Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma.

Faverau also confirmed that the live action TV series will feature brand new characters and utilise the technology he used when directing the live-action The Jungle Book and upcoming The Lion King remakes.

The TV series will hopefully give audiences answers to what happened between the fall of the Galactic Empire and the birth of the New Republic, The Resistances and the First Order. We'll be following news on the new series very closely...
