No fourth season for Zoo as CBS cancels the show

Apocalyptic drama Zoo, based on the James Patterson novel about a global uprising of animals against mankind, will not be returning for a fourth season. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that CBS has cancelled the show.

The show, starring James Wolk, continued to loose viewers, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that viewers were down by approximately 2 million in it's third year, an average audience of 2.65 million compared to the average 4.45 million viewers for season two.

Zoo was expensive but profitable due to a deal to stream the CBS show on Netflix after each season was completed. But the loss of viewers was enough to warrant a fourth run.
