Next Arrowverse spin-off in development, headlined by Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy
Arrow might be bowing out this upcoming TV season with a 10-episode final season, but the Arrowverse it spawned is still going strong. With Batwoman season one airing on The CW in the US alongside other DC superhero shows The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, the next series to join their ranks looks set to focus on the various Canaries.
A backdoor pilot is being built into the upcoming eighth season of Arrow, which will focus on the future Star City alum Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, who was introduced in the recent seventh season. She will be joined by Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy, who played older versions of their Black Canaries in the dystopian future storyline. The pilot will be It will be written by Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship and Oscar Balderrama.
McNamara has been upgraded to a series regular for the final season of Arrow alongside fellow Star City 2040 characters William (Ben Lewis) and Connor (Joseph David-Jones).
