New TV series set in the Orphan Black universe under development

But don’t get excited yet. We still don’t have any actual details…

File this one under cautious excitement. Variety has reported that AMC are developing a new TV series set in the Orphan Black universe. There aren’t any details yet and it is unclear whether the original show’s creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson or BBC America who produced the show will be involved. However, even the mention of a continuation of the series in some form is certain to have people intrigued.

Orphan Black starred the immensely talented Tatiana Maslany as Sarah Manning, who discovered she was one of many clones in a global conspiracy. Not only did Maslany deliver a gripping performance as Sarah, she also played a whole host of clones – Beth, Alison, Helena, Cosima, and Rachel to name a few, each with their own rich and twisted lives. The actress finally won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The final season ended in 2017.

Given the lack of details, it is unclear what story the new series might follow or whether any of the original cast will be involved. It’s certainly one to watch out for.
