Was the future saved?
There will be no fourth series of Travelers. The Time-travel drama about a group of people travelling back to inhabit bodies in the 21st Century and alter the apocalyptic future, has been cancelled by Netflix.
The news was broken by series star Eric McCormack on Twitter yesterday.
“A lot of you have been asking about the possibility of a season four, but many of you have been saying, ‘Look, if this is it, what a moving and surprising and profound ending it is,’” he said. “Well, I’m afraid it is [the end]. Who knows what the future holds, but Travelers Program 1, as we call it, is complete … Much love from 3468 in the 21st.”
McCormack played the team leader of the ‘travelers’ along with co-stars Mackenzie Porter, Patrick Gilmore, Jared Paul Abrahamson, Nesta Marlee Cooper and Reilly Dolman.
The series was written, created and executive produced by Brad Wright. The first two seasons aired on Showcase in Canada before streaming on Netflix worldwide, with Season 3 of the series airing exclusively on Netflix.
Despite the cancellation, Travelers is one show worth checking out if you haven’t seen it yet.
