Miranda Otto joins Corey Hawkins on 24: Legacy

Two weeks after Fox announced that 24 was returning without Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, his replacements for the rebooted 24: Legacy have already been confirmed.

Just a couple of days ago Corey Hawkins, currently seen in season six of The Walking Dead, was announced as the new leading man Eric Carter. Eric is described as;

"Strong and smart, Eric came from a very rough background and turned his life around in the Army Rangers. Now back home in Virginia with his wife Nicole, he’s pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him." - Fox

24: Legacy will return to the show's roots, with real time episodes based around CTU once more. In the pilot episode, Eric will apparently ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.

Also announced is Miranda Otto, who recently starred in season five of Homeland. Otto will play Rebecca Ingram, a character described as

"the blazing smart former head of CTU… [who], now married to Senator John Donovan, is struggling with second thoughts about having left counterterrorism agency." - Fox

24: Legacy's pilot episode is being written Manny Coto and Evan Katz. Stephen Hopkins, who directed the original 24 pilot will be helming this pilot episode too. Apparently the show will follow the 12-episode format of Sutherland's final season 24: Live Another Day.
