The BBC has announced on Twitter that Merlin actor, Colin Morgan will be guest-starring in Quirke.

Quirke is a new three-part drama series based on novels by Irish writer Benjamin Black (the pseudonym for award-winning author John Banville).

Executive producer, Ed Guiney said that he was excited to bring the series to the screen:

"Noir Dublin in the Fifties seen through John Banville's eyes is such an appealing prospect.

"We could not be more excited about being part of bringing this to the screen with the BBC and Tyrone.”

Quirke will air in late 2013.
