Masi Oka Returning for Heroes Reborn
The publicity machine is finally getting into high gear for Heroes Reborn, the limited 13-episode series that will pick up several years after Heroes ended. Despite the announcement that Jack Coleman would be back as Jack Bennett, there has been no mention of other stars returning, leading to suggestions that it would largely serve as a virtual reboot.
But now Variety have reported that Masi Oka will returrn as fan favourite Hiro Nakamura. Time-travelling Hiro was a revelation on the first season and Masi Oka went on to be nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy. Like many elements of the show, Hiro became rather tiresome as the show progressed, particularly in the third series as the writers struggled to develop his character. Hopefully a break from the character will return Hiro to his season one magic.
While Coleman's Jack Bennett was the linchpin for many character stories it is great to see that at least one major 'hero' is coming back. There is very little news on the plot yet but this news suggests there is something great coming our way, rather than an unwanted revival alongside the more popular returns of Twin Peaks and The X Files.
More news on other returnees as we have it...
