Agents of SHIELD will be joined by another Marvel show on the ABC network.
Details of the next phase of Marvel movies are still largely under wraps until the fourth Avengers movie is released next year, but it seems there are still big plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe that go beyond the big screen adventures.
Earlier this week, Variety revealed details of limited TV series featuring Loki and Scarlet Witch series to run on the new Disney streaming service, though these have yet to be officially confirmed. As such details on what these two series will involve (and which points in their history they will be set considering the events of Avengers: Infinity War) have yet to be revealed, though presumably Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen will both star.
Now Deadline has confirmed details of a new superhero series in development at ABC, that will feature multiple female superheroes. The network, which currently produces Agents of SHIELD and had previously created Agent Carter and Inhumans, has given a production commitment to a series. It will be created by Allan Heinberg, who wrote the screenplay for Wonder Woman.
It’s exciting stuff for Marvel on the small screen. Let the speculation over who will feature in the new series begin!
