Luke Cage And Supergirl - A Female Lead, Infamous General And Multiple Villains Cast

It seems you can't go one day without another casting announcement from one of the many TV superhero shows in development. We recently reported that Alfre Woodward was joining Luke Cage in a major role (likely big villain Black Mariah) and now the Marvel / Netflix show has cast its female lead.

According to Deadline Simone Missick will be playing Misty Knight, a bio-enhanced martial arts expect and detective who had a strong connection to Luke Cage in the comics. Marvel confirmed her involvement but would only say that Missick will be playing Missy, "a woman with a strong sense of justice."

Meanwhile Theo Rossi has been cast as an unnamed 'manipulative, street smart' character. Deadline suggest that he will be playing villain Shades aka Alvarez, Luke's former prison inmate from the comics. Rosario Dawson will also be reprising her role of Claire Temple from Daredevil

Over in CBS's Supergirl, Glenn Morshower has been cast as General Sam Lane, father of Lois and Lucy, the latter of which is played by Jenna Dewan-Tatum on the show.

Iddo Goldberg will also be joining the show, playing villainous android Red Tornado, and its creator TO Morrow. According to CBS, Red Tornado becomes a threat to the safety of National City when he gains sentience, bringing him into direct conflict with Supergirl.

Other villains cast in Supergirl's debut season are Hellgrammite (Justice Leak), Livewire (Brit Morgan) and alien criminal Vartox (Owain Yeoman).
