Are you ready for the twisted rainbow?
Mind bending X-Men-themed drama Legion will end with the upcoming third season, FX confirmed at a TCA event. And apparently that was always the intention of series creator Noah Hawley.
However, that doesn’t mean this is the end of Legion forever, according to executive producer and Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb.
“From Marvel’s point of view, Noah told us the end of the story when he told us the beginning of the story. These characters, some of which are part of the Marvel library, will live on. I think of it as if this is the end of this graphic novel. If Noah came back to us in a day or a year, we hope that FX would want to tell the next story.”
At the TCA event, Hawley talked about the end of Legion.
“Endings are what gives stories meaning. It felt like three acts of a story – this felt like natural place to end it.”
Series star Dan Stevens, who plays David Haller also teased the ending, which he described as ‘twisted rainbow.’
“I was promised it would be weird and beautiful and it certainly has been.”
Legion will return for its third and final season later this year.
