Lazarus comic heading for television

Just as audiences look set to see numerous adaptations of their favourite comic book characters on film, so too is television becoming a hot bed for comic-based TV shows. No sooner have we heard about the latests casting for Preacher or Supergirl, so comes another series. Legendary Television have now picked up the rights for Greg Rucka and Michael Lark's comic Lazarus.

The comic / TV show will feature a dystopian future where 16 wealthy families rule over the world. Each family feastures on of the Lazarus, a genetically-engineered immortal character; the series lead Forever Carlyle is one of these characters.

Rucka will be writing the pilot episode. No news yet on the cast or a potential broadcast date but it looks to be another intriguing sci-fi tale for television, something that is sadly lacking these days, particularly when great shows like Almost Human don't make it past the first season.
