HBO renews Westworld for season three
Westworld will be back for season three, Variety has confirmed. The sci-fi drama by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy has already received plenty of critical acclaim after its first season and continues to be applauded by fans with its second, so this is great news for the series.
Casey Bloys, president of HBO Programming, made the following statement about the renewal.
“It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew. From the inspired storytelling to the incredible visuals, we are so excited to see where the next chapter will take us.”
One of the show's stars, Evan Rachel-Wood who plays host Delores, recently hinted at the third season when talking about finally talking about getting equal pay as her male co-stars. The show, known for its water-cooler conspiracies and stunning visuals and direction, also boast an impressive cast, including Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright and Ed Harris.
There is no news yet on when season three might air, but given it was an eighteen month gap between seasons one and two, it may be late 2019 or early 2020 before we see it.
