Galaxy Quest TV series in the works

Galaxy Quest remains one of the comedic gems of the late 1990's, a Star Trek spoof with a fantastic cast including Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman and Tony Shalhoub. The fact that the film never got a sequel was everyone's loss. But now there might be something new coming our way; a Galaxy Quest TV series.

Deadline has reported that Paramount TV are in discussions to adapt the film for television with the writer of Galaxy Quest, Robert Gordon, director Dean Parisot, and producer Mark Johnson all expected to executive produce.

There is no news as to what the premise of the show will be about or whether any of the film's cast will be involved. Perhaps we're looking at Galaxy Quest: The Next Generation?

More news as we have it.
