Flight of the Conchords - The Movie?

Recently we have heard the news about potential plans to make Doctor Who into a movie. It seems that other television shows are jumping on the bandwagon. Musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords are planning to create a film version of their cult TV hit. There is only one problem though: they need a story.

Bret McKenzie, who stars alongside Jermaine Clement in Flight of the Conchords, revealed their big-screen ambitions during promotion for a movie version of The Muppets for which he wrote several songs. He said:

"Yeah, we’re going to do a movie. We just need a story – so if you know anyone who has any story ideas..."

He was then asked, by Hollywood Reporter, how long it would take to make the film and he said that "movies take a long time to make" and jokingly commented that it could take him up to a month from now to film and edit it.

The HBO series Flight of the Conchords ended in 2009 after two series, citing the reason that they were finding it difficult to come up with new material.
