Elementary, Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Exorcist and The Goldbergs lead the latest US series to be renewed

The US spin on Sherlock Holmes Elementary has been renewed by CBS for a sixth season. What started with an outcry of anger has become a surprisingly strong show, featuring Jonny Lee Miller as British Sherlock Holmes working with US Joan Watson Lucy Liu and the New York police department.

The network has also renewed The Amazing Race and cancelled Two Broke Girls. Meanwhile ABC has renewed The Goldbergs for two seasons and cancelled The Catch.

Fox have picked up New York cop comedy Brooklyn Nine Nine for another year and the TV remake of The Exorcist for a second season too. And NBC has cancelled The Blacklist: Redemption after renewing its parent show. The network has also renewed Blindspot but cancelled superhero comedy series Powerless after pulling it from the airwaves a couple of weeks ago. It's unclear whether the show will air in the UK.
