DVDs Galore!

It seems that people cannot get enough of television at the moment and there are quite a few DVD releases of your favourite TV shows. Here they are:

Star Wars does not finish with the films. Mystery and adventure await the heroes of the Republic in the third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The action takes place between Episodes 2 and 3. As the dark side grows ever stronger and the Jedi Knights are pushed to their breaking point, alliances will be tested, truths will be questioned and galaxy-changing secrets will be uncovered. It features guest stars such as Liam Neeson (Star Wars: A Phantom Menace), Seth Green (Robot Chicken) and Jaime King (Sin City). Out on DVD and Blu-Ray 17th October 2011.

Why don’t you watch your favourite family on DVD with your own family? Well, without your grandma. Or the kids. Or younger siblings. Okay, enjoy the hilarious and outrageous Season 11 of Family Guy. It features all 14 episodes from the most controversial season yet. Catch all the ridiculous antics, such as Peter’s love of the sauce landing him a kidney transplant and Stewie and Brian’s diabolical mission to kill Santa in the North Pole. It seems that the stars cannot get enough of it as well with appearances from Robert Downey Jr., Dan Aykroyd, Anne Hathaway and legendary rock band KISS. Out on DVD 7th November 2011 with a RRP of £27.99 (3 disc set) or all 11 seasons for £189.99.

To celebrate ITV3’s Crime Thriller Season and the 4th annual ITV Crime Thriller Awards, ITV STUDIOS Home Entertainment presents the very best of their Crime Thriller titles, available on DVD. From the iconic characters of Sherlock, Poirot and Marple, to the seminal Frost, Lewis and Prime Suspect team, and introducing the memorable characters of Vera, Cracker and Cadfael, the ITV Crime Thriller Collection offers something for everyone!

Sky 1’s critically acclaimed comedy Trollied is being released to DVD on the 17th October 2011. Trollied has been quite successful with UK audiences so Sky 1 has now commissioned 27 more episodes – the biggest re-commission of any show in the UK. That’s not just one series, but a two further. Additionally, it has been given a Christmas special; the hallmark of any successful comedy TV show. It also features plenty of extras including outtakes, creating the show and the cast and crew’s attitudes to shopping. Starring Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous, Little Voice) and Mark Addy (Game of Thrones, The Full Monty).

Smooth talking ex-lawyer Jeff Winger has got a lot to learn, and he’s come to Greendale Community College to avoid every bit of it. Unfortunately for Jeff, he’s not the only misfit to enroll here, and people in need have an odd way of finding each other. There are bad trips, great debates, drunk dials, food fights, epic paintball battles and sinister chicken finger conspiracies. Community: The Complete First Season will be available in a four-disc DVD set for £22.99 RRP on November 14th 2011.

The hit show Franklin & Bash, screened on E4, follows a pair of streetwise lawyers, Peter Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Jared Franklin (Breckin Meyer), who play by their own rules while successfully navigating their way through law and life, all while trying to fit in to the conservative law firm they've recently joined. Featuring all 10 episodes, Franklin & Bash: The Complete First Season will be available for RRP £29.99 and is rated 15. Out on DVD from November 14th 2011.
