Dreadstar Coming To TV

Dreadstar is coming to television; the comic created by Jim Starlin is being adapted by Universal Cable Productions with Starlin serving as writer and executive producer on the show.

The titular character Vanth Dreadstar becomes the last survivor of the Milky Way Galaxy who engages in an epic battle between two warring galactic empires, one led by the church, the other by royalty.

Starlin helped shaped some iconic Marvel characters, helping to establish the likes of Thanos, Captain Marvel and Guardians Of The Galaxy heroes Drax the Destroyer and Gamora. Dreadstar was part of the Marvel-owned EPIC in the early 1980s.

Universal Cable Productions were responsible for shows such as Eureka and Warehouse 13.

On the adaptation of Dreadstar for television, Starling had this to say...

“I consider Dreadstar to be an extension of my family, so it took me a while to feel comfortable letting anyone else take care of this project. It has taken some time, but I know I’ve put my trust in the right team and I’m excited to collaborate with Universal Cable Productions and Benderspink to bring Dreadstar’s unique brand of chaos to television.”
