The Doctor makes a new fwiend as James Buckley joins the cast of Doctor Who

This evening the BBC have announced that The Inbetweeners star James Buckley is set to join Jodie Whittaker's Doctor on an adventure in the upcoming season of Doctor Who.

Speaking ahead of his Doctor Who appearance, James said “It was surreal to be on such an iconic show and I’m really happy to be part of something so well loved. Hope everyone enjoys it!” 

Matt Strevens, Executive Producer added “It was a real thrill to welcome James to the cast, his dramatic and comic talents are put to fine use in this action packed episode.”

Doctor Who returns to our screens on New Year's Day at 6:55pm with the episode Spyfall marking the start of Jodie Whittaker's second season. She'll be joined once again by Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Cole aboard the TARDIS.
