Cold Feet to return to ITV in 2016
Let it not be said that it is just the big American shows that are getting in on the revival craze, now ITV is too with its announcement that hot comedy drama Cold Feet will return after a 13-year absence from our screens.
Five of the original cast members - James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Fay Ripley, Hermione Norris and John Thomson - will return for the new eight-part revival that begins shooting in Manchester in February. Helen Baxendale's character Rachel won't be back as her character was tragically killed off in a lorry crash in the final episode.
On the revival, Mike Bullen, creator and writer of Cold Feet noted that it felt like the right time to revisit these characters...
"They’re 50, but still feel 30, apart from on the morning after the night before, when they really feel their age. They’ve still got lots of life to look forward to, though they’re not necessarily the years one looks forward to.”
Steve November, ITV’s director of drama added;
"We’re delighted to be re-visiting Cold Feet for a new generation. Like any reunion we’ll be looking forward to working with Mike Bullen on his wonderfully heartfelt and funny scripts and learning how the characters’ lives have changed over the years.”
Are you looking forward to the long-rumoured revival of Cold Feet? And what's next? Personally another full series revival of Cracker is the top of our list...
