Channel 4 WILL air The Great British Bake Off in 2017

In all the furore over last year's acquisition of the BBC's crown jewel The Great British Bake Off by Channel 4, the biggest concern was that fans of the show were not going to see it back on our screens until 2018. A BBC clause meant that Channel 4 wouldn't be able to broadcast a new series during the need to have a year-long break in-between.

Fortunately that no longer seems to be the case. Channel 4's Chief Creative Officer Jay Hunt confirmed the following at the Realscreen summit 2017.

A representative from Channel 4 then told DigitalSpy that a full series would air in 2017.Applicantions for the new series have now closed and the new hosts and second judge have yet to be confirmed, with only Paul Hollywood transitioning across from the BBCto Channel 4.
