Casting news from Merlin

The filming of the fourth series of Merlin is currently in its final phase, and tidbits about the guest stars for this season are starting to emerge. And, well, they’re tidbits to start getting very excited about.

First, we have the stars that will please the geeks. James Callis of Battlestar Galactica fame is going to feature in the fifth episode as a character called Borden, one of Gaius’s old pupils. Then Lindsay Duncan, known to TV fans from the Doctor Who episode “Waters of Mars”, will be playing a queen in the series.

After that we have the solid British actors. The brilliant Phil Davis (Sherlock, Whitechapel, Case Histories) and the wonderful Gemma Jones (Spooks, Bridget Jones’ Diary) are both going to feature in the series.

The fourth series of Merlin is due to air on BBC One next month. We’ll let you know the exact date as soon as we do.
