Prepare the explore the world of the CIA black ops unit that created Jason Bourne…
The USA Network has ordered a full season of Bourne-spin-off Treadstone, Deadline has confirmed. The series, which was originally announced as part of four pilots ordered by the network in April and confidence in the show, and rumours that Amazon may pick up distribution rights, has led to a full debut run.
Treadstone will focus on the black-ops CIA unit that created the likes of Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne, the series exploring both its past and present day activities. Tim Kring, the man behind Heroes will act as showrunner.
Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment made the following statement regarding the decision to pick Treadstone up for a full season run.
“As the the No. 1 cable entertainment network for the past 12 years, USA Network is delivering a dynamic lineup of big, bold programming – and what could be bigger and bolder than the Treadstone mythology?”
Treadstone will enter production in 2019.
