BBC renews Peaky Blinders for a fourth AND fifth series

If you're enjoying the current third series of Peaky Blinders on BBC 2 then you can smile at the fact that there is still a lot more to come. The BBC has renewed the show for two more series in a surprise-double renewal.

The show's star Cillian Murphy was delighted, making this announcement...

"Tommy Shelby is one of the most intense, challenging characters I've had the opportunity to play. I'm particularly grateful that Steven's original, dynamic writing and the long form series allow me to explore Tommy in depth. I very much look forward to Tommy's evolution over the next two chapters." - BBC

While the show's creator Steven Knight, who will again write all the episodes for the fourth series, added:

"I am genuinely thrilled at the response to the third series of the show. The prospect of writing series four and five is truly exciting. This is a real passion project for me and I look forward to telling more stories of the Shelby family." - BBC

The show, set around the 'Peaky Blinders' criminal gang in Post World War 1 Birmingham, has three more episodes of its third run and will return for series four in 2017. In the meantime, check out Stephan Burn's latest series three review here.
