Batwoman is coming to the Arrowverse for next season's crossover event

The Invasion! and Crisis on Earth X crossovers between ArrowSupergirlThe Flash and Legends of Tomorrow have made for some very fun television events the last couple of years - so how do they top them for their 2018/19 season?

At a The CW Upfront presentation, Arrow star Stephen Amell delighted audiences by revealing who will be joining him in next crossover event.

“For the very first time, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it!”

The audience was also treated to a terrific poster feature Supergirl, the Green Arrow and the Flash against a backdrop of Gotham City and the Batwoman signal.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz also confirmed the setting:
“We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse. This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event."

We presume the Legends of Tomorrow will also feature in crossover planned for this December.

In the meantime, you catch up on our weekly reviews of Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow as they near their current seasons.

Meanwhile in related news, there is another Batman prequel series underway; Pennyworth is being developed by Bruce Heller and Danny Canon and will feature Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth before he came to Gotham City. The show will follow Alfred's life in London in the 1960s after his time as a soldier in the British SAS, as he begins working with Bruce's father, Thomas Wayne. The show has been picked up for a 10-episode season by Epix but will not be connected to current prequel series Gotham, which is ending next season.

It's the prequel series you never knew you wanted right?
