Arrowverse crossover details revealed, and it will put everything in Crisis

Warning: spoilers ahead for the upcoming season...

Last year, the Arrowverse shows of The CW (ArrowThe FlashSupergirl and Legends of Tomorrow) went big with a three-episode crossover event Invasion! that saw the cast of all four shows unite to save the Earth from an invasion by alien race the Dominators.

This year be slightly different, not least because Supergirl the show (as well as the character) will be properly incorporated too. The shows will tackle the infamous comic storyline Crisis! which sees the heroes facing evil doppelgangers of themselves from Earth X, a reality where the Nazi's won World War II and humanity is quite different (fighting Nazis now of course is a timely addition). What's more, it will happen during the nuptials of Barry Allen and Iris West from The Flash.

You can check out the cool poster for the crossover, revealed on The Flash's Twitter feed...

The poster features a whole host of characters from all four shows, including new character The Ray. TV Line has reported Russell Tovey has been cast for the four-part crossover as the openly gay superhero from Earth X.

Here's the official character description of The Ray as released by The CW...

Raymond “Ray” Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a “genetic light bomb.” The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice — he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists.

Are you excited for the next big crossover? We'll be back to review all four shows when they return to Sky1 next month...
