American Horror Story renewed for season seven

The Emmy-award winning horror anthology series continues to attract big audiences and impressive acting talents, so it is no surprise that American Horror Story has been renewed for a seventh season by FX.

We've had a haunted house, an asylum, a coven, freak show and a disturbing hotel and now season six is returned to its roots with the Roanoke mystery for its latest setting. Variety has reported that the latest season has been averaging 13 million viewers since its debut.

FX Networks and FX Productions CEO John Landgraf made the following statement on the show's renewal.

"Ryan [Murphy], Brad [Falchuk] and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping ‘American Horror Story’ endlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment. The sustained success through six installments only proves how intensely the series resonates with fans. ‘AHS‘ confronts our deepest fears with unmatched suspense and style. Each new installment is a cultural event, hotly anticipated for its theme, imagery, cast and twists." - BBC
