While The Expanse and Carnival Row have been renewed, Forever, Lore, The Romanoffs, Too Young to Die Young and Patriot have all faced the axe.
After saving sci-fi drama The Expanse from cancellation last year, Amazon is confident enough to renew the show for season five before the fourth even drops.
Here’s the official blurb for the fourth season, which streams on Amazon this December…
The fourth season begins a new chapter for the series with the crew of the Rocinante on a mission from the UN to explore new worlds beyond the Ring Gate. Humanity has been given access to thousands of Earth-like planets which has created a land rush and furthered tensions between the opposing nations of Earth, Mars and the Belt. Ilus is the first of these planets, one rich with natural resources but also marked by the ruins of a long dead alien civilization. While Earthers, Martians and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus and its natural resources, these early explorers don’t understand this new world and are unaware of the larger dangers that await them.
In addition, Amazon has also handed out a second season order to Carvival Row, the new Victorian fantasy series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne. The first season is due to stream next month.
The eight-part series is set in a Victorian fantasy world mythological immigrant creatures whose exotic homelands were invaded by the empires of man. Bloom plays human detective Rycroft Philostrate, while Delevingne stars as a refugee faerie named Vignette Stonemoss. The couple rekindle an affair amid a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row.
However, it wasn’t good news for some Amazon shows, with the studios cancelling five shows this weekend. Forever, Lore, The Romanoffs, Too Young to Die Young and Patriot have all faced the axe.
