ABC renews The Good Doctor for a fourth season

Hit medical drama The Good Doctor has been renewed for a fourth season by ABC, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed. The show stars Freddie Highmore as autistic doctor Shaun Murphy, with House mastermind David Shore the showrunner behind The Good Doctor.

ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke made the following statement on the show's renewal...

"The Good Doctor has been a cornerstone on Monday nights and is one of those special, heartfelt series that fearlessly tackles inclusivity. David Shore’s thoughtful storytelling, combined with an incredible cast led by Freddie Highmore’s nuanced performance as Dr. Shaun Murphy, are what have made this series a breakout hit over the past three seasons, and I’m excited to see where they take us next.

The Good Doctor is currently airing its third season in the UK on Sky Witness.
