ABC developing Agents Of SHIELD spin off series
Even though Agents Of SHIELD has not yet been given an official renewal for a third season, ABC is already looking to develop a spin-off series, the seeds of which will be laid during season two of the show.
Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed that a spinoff is being developed by the current show's executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski, who has worked on shows like Lost and Hawaii Five-0.
There is no news yet as to what the plot of the new series will be on when it would broadcast - a September 2015 air date seems unlikely given the timescales. It may even act as another mid-season replacement like the critically acclaimed Agent Carter which has failed to pick up a UK broadcaster, though Netflix have been rumoured to stream it online.
With Daredevil already picking up positive reviews since it was made available yesterday, and four Netflix more shows already on their way, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is looking to get just as big on the small screen.
More news on the details, the likely-but not confirmed Agents Of SHIELD season three renewal - something that would seem a 100% certainty if it gets a spin-off, and a hopeful UK pick up for Agent Carter, as we have it.
