We’re at the halfway point in Bake Off, an almighty milestone in any series of the show. And this year it’s being marked with pastry week, aka the most irrelevant week of all.
Irrelevant? Really? Yes. Yes it is. Because any sensible real-life baker would just go and buy some ready made pastry and use that, wouldn’t they? Why faff about making things more difficult for yourself than they need to be? Because Bake Off really does make pastry look difficult.
