Marvel's Runaways finally gets a UK broadcaster - and an April airdate
Marvel's Runaways debuted to a lot of critical acclaim when it aired on Hulu in the US last year. UK audiences assumed we'd be getting it along with the rest of the the State's superhero TV show output, but news on a UK air date - or broadcaster - has been nonexistent until now.
Fortunately, Syfy UK has finally picked up the rights and they'll be broadcasting the series from the 18th April. Runaways features six super-powered teenagers who band together after they discover their parents are in running a league of supervillains. It stars stars Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder, Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru, Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean, Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes, Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein and Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez.
Syfy UK also picked up the rights to two further intriguing series. This May, the channel will debut supernatural thriller Siren , which tells the story of a battle between man and sea as predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean.
Also launching at an unconfirmed date this year is sci-fi crime drama Stitchers, which features a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be ‘stitched’ into the minds of the recently deceased to decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave.
