HBO confirms Game of Thrones season eight will air in...2019...

Some bad news for those expecting the climatic resolution to Game of Thrones this year; HBO has confirmed on Twitter this week that the eighth and final season will not air until 2019.

The series stepped ups its game is a slightly reduced by terribly exciting seventh season last summer, while production on the eighth began in October. Miguel Sapochnik and David Nutter are returning to direct alongside show runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

The final run will apparently feature six feature-length episodes, so if we end up with six Game of Thrones movies when 2019 comes, it will hopefully have been worth the wait...
