Noel gets a second outing on E4
With Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy only one week in its six episodes run, E4 have commissioned a second series. The surreal sitcom created by Fielding - known for being one half of The Mighty Boosh - will return with another run of six episodes next year. So far, it has attracted positive reviews and much press interest.
Nerys Evans, the commissioning editor for Channel 4 said:
"Noel is such a rare and brilliant talent we can't wait to work with him on another series of Luxury Comedy, this show feels so modern and pioneering.
"If series one brought us a talking knife wound and a man with ice-cream for eyes, we can't wait to see where else Noel's comedy mind will take us next."
The Boosh star said:
"Delighted to get a second series of Luxury Comedy - we'll definitely make the second one more like a Wednesday morning. Channel Four have been so supportive and given us creative freedom to experiment with ideas and techniques. And I think we can push things further and make something even more out there next time."
The first episode of the surreal sitcom attracted 422,000 viewers to E4; this is a 50% increase on the average audience for the 10pm slot.
