Horror version of Sabrina The Teenage Witch reboot moves to Netflix
The upcoming reboot of Sabrina The Teenage Witch isn't going to be the lighter, humorous version we remember, starring Melissa Joan Hart. Instead it will be a dark coming-of-age tale that involves witchcraft and the occult.
According to The Wrap, the reboot was originally envisioned as a spin-off of cult TV show Riverdale on The CW (both being based on Archie Comics to begin with). However, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (as the reboot is now known) is now heading to Netflix instead and has earned a 20-episode order. It is not clear whether the two shows will now exist in the same universe.
The show will be written and executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and co-produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Lee Toland Krieger will be joining jim as director and executive producer, while Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater will also executive produce.
