Frankie, you plonker!
Veteran actor Sir David Jason has blasted The X Factor’s Frankie Cocozza on his behaviour. The Only Fools and Horses actor has predicted that Cocozza will be dead by 22 if he carries on the way he is. This is because, as Jason accuses, the contestants on TV talent shows are too desperate for fame. He also said that X Factor bad boy Cocozza is a “plonker” and would burn up amid his new-found fame.
He told The Mail on Sunday:
"When you see the kids on Britain's Got Talent or The X Factor who just want to be famous at all costs, you just go, 'God, these people don't know what it is they're asking for',"
"I won't watch The X Factor any more. Why do I want to see someone say the same old thing - it's all they've ever dreamed about - then lose and burst into tears and go into neurosis? All they see is the glamour, the riches, the cars. The fame. They just want to be famous - it doesn't matter how.
"Then you think of that plonker who got sacked... How old is he? 18? What, does he think, 'Yeah, I'm famous?' Christ. He'll be dead by the time he's 22, because he'll burn it all up."
Cocozza responded through his favourite social medium Twitter (@FrankieCocozza):
“Bang out of order trotter, I still adore sir David though."
Frankie Cocozza had also been in a Twitter feud with Manchester United and England footballer, Wayne Rooney (@WayneRooney). When using the hashtag #CelebsThatLookLikeTheyStink, Frankie tweeted: "Not really a celeb but I bet his pits are stinking along with his breath wayne rooney." Rooney then replied with: "FrankieCocozza sorry who are u again? Oh yeah I remember your the kid who was on x factor who couldn't sing”.
Sir David Jason continued his criticisms of current television by voicing his disapproval of BBC soap Eastenders.
"I saw one (trailer) the other night when I was with my daughter," he recalled. "It was just violence, anger and angst. Someone was saying, 'Leave it, don't go to him, he's gonna kill you'.
"We don't want to see that. I can't tell you how fast we tried to get hold of the bloody remote to switch it off. I won't let my daughter watch EastEnders. Where is the stuff that you can sit with your family and watch?"
Sir David Jason returns to our screens in his first comedic role in years this Boxing Day with The Royal Bodyguard. It is a six part comedy series on BBC One where he plays a hapless old soldier called Captain Guy Hubble who works on the car part at Buckingham Palace until one day he is promoted to the head of royal security. We are not quite sure what Frankie Cocozza is up to next. The website for the series can be seen here.
