The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead crossover planned
The long mooted crossover between The Walking Dead and prequel spin-off series Fear The Walking Dead has finally been announced. At The Walking Dead panel at New York Comic Con, creator of the comics Robert Kirkman confirmed the details...sort of...
“There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name. This is a huge event in the world of The Walking Dead.”
It's not clear when this will take place, but with The Walking Dead's 100th episode approaching, it seems like as good a place as any. In addition to the crossover announcement, the cast and crew also revealed some other tidbits about the upcoming eighth season.
Executive producer Greg Nicotero talked about the season opener which he directed, stating that the first episode had a lot of nods to previous seasons, while teasing a 'shot for shot' sequence in homage to a past episode. “We’re setting the stage for our war."
Series star Andrew Lincoln added that the opening episode Mercy was "the payoff for last season, for Rick. I think he is ready for battle.”
Fear The Walking Dead ends mid-October and we'll be bringing a full review of its third season shortly after. The Walking Dead starts in the UK on Fox on the 23rd October at 9:00 pm.
