Check out the latest trailer for Star Trek: Discovery

It's just a couple of months before Star Trek returns to its rightful place on TV with Star Trek: Discovery and this latest trailer certainly looks promising. Featuring more Klingons, and giving us glimpses into the possible fate of the USS Shenzhou and the redemption of Sonequa Martin-Green's lead character First Officer Michael Burnham, it is certainly looks to be a bold, fresh take on the franchise.

What's more, the Star Trek: Discovery panel at San Diego Comic Con revealed some intriguing developments about the new series, which we'll post below. Warning, these could be considered spoilers...











First up, Michael Burnham's relationship to Sarek (played by James Frain) has been revealed; he's her adoptive father and the step sister (of sorts) to Spock. Amanda is her human mother. That's an intriguing development...

Also, Anthony Rapp has revealed that Lt Paul Stamets will be the first openly gay character in Star Trek (if you ignore the quasi reboot of Sulu's character in Star Trek Beyond) and Wilson Cruz will be playing his love interest.



Star Trek: Discovery debuts in the US on the 24th September, with new episodes here in the UK on Netflix from September 25th...
