Netflix renews Iron Fist for a second season and The Defenders gets a new trailer

Danny Rand's appearance alongside Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in this summer's The Defenders won't be his last appearance in the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite some less than stellar reviews in comparison to its three counterparts,  Iron Fist has been renewed for a second season.

What's more, Luke Cage's Misty Knight (Simone Missick) will be crossing over for a major role in the second season. In the comics she had a romantic relationship with Danny Rand and also teamed up with Iron Fist counterpart Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) to form the Daughters of the Dragon. It is not known whether either of those plots will form part of the second season.

The announcement was announced during the San Diego Comic-Con panel for Netflix’s The Defenders, which teams up Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones to fight Sigourney Weaver's new big bad. A new trailer has also been released, which you can view below...

More news as we have it. In the meantime, if you're just catching up on Iron Fist ahead of The Defenders next month, you can check out Sam Keeling's episode by episode reviews here.
