Saturday 1st October: Best TV Day of 2011?

More on Doctor Who

Saturday 1st October. Is it going to be the best day of television in 2011?

It may well be. It certainly will be for me. It is going to have significant episodes from both of my very favourite shows — the finale of series six of Doctor Who and the first episode of the fourth series of Merlin.

The finale of Doctor Who is entitled The Wedding Of River Song and, if we can trust the trailer at the end of this Saturday's episode (which was pre-reviewed here — don't worry, it's spoiler free) is going to be amazing.

Then we have the premier episode of series four of MerlinThe Darkest Hour. One of our writers has seen it, and says it's very good — action packed. If you're a Merlin fan, we'll have weekly episode reviews going up on the site, probably filled with lots of exclamation points due to the excitement of the reviewer who likes Merlin just a little too much.

This trailer really isn't helping. Featuring a solemn Gaius, a whole host of baddies and beasties and a seemingly dead Merlin at the end, it looks set to be a completely fantastic series.
