Agents of SHIELD, Once Upon a Time and Designated Survivor gets season renewals from ABC
More renewals, this time from the ABC network as three shows have been picked up for another season each...
First up is Marvel Cinematic Universe TV spin-off Agents of SHIELD, which will be back for a fifth season. Fans have been left on tenterhooks almost up the season finale in the US, while here in the UK, the adventures of Agent Phil Coulson and co. are still a few episodes behind. With a creative resurgence in the Ghost Rider, LMD and now Framework storylines (which us UK viewers are starting now), this has been viewed as one of the best seasons yet.
(Sadly our regular writer couldn't continue our weekly reviews, but we'll be delivering a full season four review once its over). The current season airs on E4 on Sunday nights at 9pm.
Once Upon A Time is also returning for a seventh season, despite a recent announcement that central star Jennifer Morrison will not return as Emma Snow. She has agreed to return for the season seven opener though to offer closure. Apparently the show will go through a creative reboot with a focus on potential just three existing characters; Lana Parrilla's Regina, Robert Carlyle's Mr. Gold and Colin O'Donoghue's Captain Hook.
Season six is currently airing on Netflix here in the UK, with the previous five seasons also available.
Another show getting a weekly viewing on Netflix in the UK is Designated Survivor, starring Kiefer Sutherland as the a politician appointed President of the United States after a terrorist attacks wipes out the entire US government. The show has been renewed by ABC for a second season.
We'll continue to track the big US season renewals as they come...
