Timeless and Sleepy Hollow cancelled while Gotham and The Blacklist continue for another season

As you can probably tell from the recent spat of news items here at The Digital Fix, it's that time of year again with the networks across the pond cancel or renew our favourite shows.

Over at NBC the rather excellent and sadly underrated time travel drama Timeless has been cancelled after just one season, while Taken (which has just become available on Amazon Prime) has been picked up for a second year. And veteran James Spader drama The Blacklist has also been picked up for a full full 22-episode season five. It's not clear yet whether new spin-off drama The Blacklist: Redemption starring Ryan Eggold and Famke Jannsen will return.

Meanwhile Fox has renewed the Batman-without Batman superhero drama Gotham for a fourth season. However supernatural drama Sleepy Hollow, starring Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, will not be back for season five. The 'reboot' of season four with a new co-lead and location failed to gain audiences and this is the last we'll see of the show.
